Scots World Cup schedule revealed
Scotland are in World Cup qualifying Group 9
Scotland's fixture list for their 2010 World Cup Group 9 qualification campaign has been announced.
The Scots kick off with a trip to Macedonia on 6 September 2008, before a trip to Iceland four days later.
The first home game will take place against Norway on 11 October followed by Holland away on 28 March 2009.
Iceland visit Hampden on 1 April and the Norway away tie is on 19 August, before home games on 5 and 9 September 2009 against Macedonia and Holland.
The Scottish Football Association delegation who met the other countries in Amsterdam to decide the fixtures, say they are "happy" with the outcome.
Scotland will face both Iceland and Holland on Wednesday nights at Hampden, unlike their failed qualification campaign for Euro 2008 when they played all of their home games on Saturdays.
"I might annoy the SFA because I want to do this football-wise," explained SFA chief executive Gordon Smith.
"If that means it doesn't suit to have Hampden games on Saturdays, then we won't do it.
"In the Euro 2008 campaign we had a big game against Ukraine on Saturday and then fell flat against Georgia the following Wednesday - maybe we should have played away first."
Scotland have successfully avoided dates in June 2009 when UK players will be out of season, while those based in Norway and Iceland will be in the middle of their domestic campaigns.
However the SFA are still looking for a new manager to take the team into the campaign, following the departure of Alex McLeish.
"You've probably got at least six or seven people we're looking at and we'll be deciding and having discussions," added Smith.
